Vietnam on the Radar

Vietnam’s boom in golf tourism has been brought about by four distinct, but intimately linked drivers. Firstly, the emergence of the country’s Central Coast region as Vietnam’s version of the Algarve or Costa del Sol. There is also the growing recognition that a region is better served by a few great courses rather than plenty of also-rans. Of course, the cultural and historic attractions Vietnam offers golfers and non-golfers alike can’t be dismissed. And, most recently, Emirates’ launch of daily flights between Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City has opened up the destination to players across the GCC.

With the country boasting just 29 golf courses in a country of 90 million people, Vietnam is now seriously on the golf tourism radar. And while Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Hanoi have some good golf, the crème de la crème of Vietnam golf is what has become known as Golf Coast Vietnam; the Central Coast, around the country’s third largest city, Danang.
